Waggin' Tails Rally Program

The Rally Course Outline

Each class teaches Rally exercises from both AKC and APDT courses. You and your dog will improve your heeling, learn and practice all the exercises, and practice running rally courses we have seen at trials. If your dog already knows how to sit, down, stand, stay, and heel (does not have to be perfect) then you can learn Rally.

Beginning Rally - 8 weeks
  • Improve basic obedience skills like heeling, stay, sit/down/stand.
  • Learn exercises needed for beginner level courses.
  • Practice beginner level courses.
  • Start working on skills for intermediate level exercises.

Intermediate Rally - 6 weeks

  • Continue improving general obedience skills.
  • Learn exercises needed for intermediate level courses.
  • Practice intermediate level courses.
  • Start working on skills for advanced level exercises.

Advanced Rally - 6 weeks

  • Continue improving general obedience skills.
  • Learn exercises needed for advanced level courses.
  • Practice advanced level courses.
  • Prepare you for competitions.
    (You might as well show off what you have worked on.)
Rally Practice - ongoing
  • Continue improving general obedience skills.
  • Continue polishing performances on all levels of exercises.
  • Practice intermediate and/or advanced courses each week.
